A mentally challenged man who broke into the unoccupied home of drug kingpin Leebert Ramcharan was granted bail and a curfew imposed on him when he appeared before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Markel Hall of Lilliput in St James is facing a charge of housebreaking with intent.
The accused, who told the court that he was released from prison in July after serving over two years on a gun-related charge, was granted bail with surety in $10,000 and his family ordered to take him to the psychiatrist for evaluation.
Curfew
A curfew was also imposed for him to be at home from 7 a.m to 5 p.m daily. He was also warned not to return to the Ramcharans' home.
It is alleged that on October 14, as is customary, someone went to the Ramcharans' unoccupied house in Ironshore to check on the premises and observed that a window had been broken. When the witness went inside the house, he saw the accused on a bed in the master bedroom wearing only his underpants.
Hall has on previous court appearances claimed, much to the amusement of the court, that he and Mr Ramcharan made 'a shipment load of money' and that he had bought the house with his $13 million.
