Accused Bridget Sandals thieves get bail extension |
|||||
SHANICE WATSON, STAR Writer Two females accused of stealing designer slippers valued at $25,000 from the Bridget Sandals store in St Andrew had their bails extended when they appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Monday. Britina Linton, 22, unemployed, and Renee Linton, 21, a student, both of Kingston addresses, pleaded not guilty to simple larceny. Allegations are that the accused went to the premises of Bridget Sandals and while they browsed the store, they took two pairs of the 'kay style' sandals off the shelf and placed them into a bag carried by Linton. The accused women created a disorderly scene when stopped by the security officer, who had observed them taking the sandals without paying for them. It is further reported that when the women were shown the closed-circuit TV footage of them taking the sandals, they offered to pay. The police were called. Both women are to appear in court again on November 23. |
