Dancehall's newest sensation Montari is here to make a mark. Born and raised in Clarendon, the former past student of Glenmuir High School and Ebony Park Heart Academy, where he fully completed his studies in ornamental horticulture and landscaping, decided to move to Kingston in 2007. "Kingston is the parish where jobs and opportunities were awaiting my gifted talents. When I first came to Kingston, I was introduced to Jerome Waite to play professional football for Arnett Gardens football Club," he stated. However, being from a musical family, Montari knew that music was his first love. "During training sessions at Arnett, I used to deejay for my teammates and they encouraged me to take it serious. I'm the cousin of the late Garnett Silk, plus, my father is a professional bass guitar player, and most of my other family members play other musical instruments," he added. Currently promoting Downtown Anthem, Montari is looking to cement his place among the top artistes in the industry. (To vote for Montari to be featured on SunCity Radio's World Premier Tuesdays, log on to The Jamaica Star's Facebook page and like his video: Downtown Anthem. Voting ends Monday at 11 a.m.)
