19-y-o returns to court for murder

Nineteen-year-old Fabian Williams, who is charged with killing a man whom he is accused of shoving over a precipice, is to return to the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on November 3, 2015 for a preliminary enquiry.

Dead is Romey Wellington, a 40-year-old labourer from Cotton Piece District, St Catherine.

When Williams appeared in the court recently, the date was arrived at by the defence and the Crown. His bail was extended until the November date.

Allegations are that on January 24, 2015, Williams was at a wake in Cotton Piece when he reportedly got into a dispute with Wellington. It is alleged that Wellington was hit with a stone and pushed over a precipice. He was admitted to hospital, but subsequently succumbed to his injuries.

Investigations by Detective Corporal Lloyd Knight led to Williams being charged with murder.
