St Elizabeth Technical High School (STETHS) and Cross Keys High will represent the final stops for the Birmingham City Council cricket team, which is currently touring the country.

As part of the tour, which is a reciprocal legacy programme engagement in response to Birmingham's hosting Jamaica ahead of the 2012 Olympics, STETHS and Cross Keys, two of the most consistent high school cricket teams in recent years, will complete a six-match schedule.

Birmingham City opened with fixtures against an Eastern Jamaica XI at the Trelawny Multi-purpose Stadium last Tuesday and a game against Western Jamaica XI last Thursday at Treasure Beach Sports Park.

This was followed by an encounter against a St Ann Masters aggregation yesterday at Ultimate Oval, while today will see the visitors going up against a Central Jamaica XI at Jamalco.

The STETHS and Cross Keys affairs, which are slated to be Twenty20 encounters, will also be played at Jamalco on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.

"We are pleased to know that a tour of this nature is taking place in Jamaica," said Fritz Harris, secretary of the Jamaica Cricket Association.

"It offers a lot of opportunity for us as an administration to try and forge ties and linkages, while for players, it gives them the opportunity to play against overseas county, league, and grassroots players."

He added: "We also understand that cricket is just one part of the legacy programme with football, netball, and track and field planned and completed tours being others."

The two-week tour, which concludes on Friday, will also see the City Council aggregation paying a visit to the British High Commission's offices in Kingston on Wednesday.
