Man pleads guilty to abusing police

A man accused of abusing two police officers pleaded guilty to charges in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Twenty-nine year old, Michael Horton pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm, assault at common-law, armed with an offensive weapon, resisting arrest, assaulting a constable and behaving in a disorderly conduct.

It is reported that, earlier this year, the police was alerted that the accused was using abusive language towards persons that lived close to his home and that they felt threatened.

When the police arrived on the scene, reports are that Horton resisted arrest and behaved in a violent manner towards the officers.

Reports are that after officers used force to subdue the accused, he was arrested and charged.

Horton will return to court on November 2 for sentencing.
