Davina Henry, Star Writer

He rose to prominence in 2008 with his popular single 'Love What You Got'. Reggae artiste Guidance is again seeking to make a positive impact on the industry.

Promoting three singles, Girlfriend Yard A Dweet, Sunday Don't Wait On Sunday and I Remember You, Guidance said he took time off from music to meditate, but is now back to reconnect with fans and spread the message of Jah.

"I'm currently signed to Phree Records, so I've just been working hard, promoting my latest singles and putting in the work. My fans have been longing to hear from me, but I wasn't getting the right push. People love me, but they haven't been hearing from me. But now that I have a team behind me, I'm back, full force," he stated.

Already booked for The Greatest One Night Show on Earth, Sting, Guidance said he is looking forward to reconnecting with his fans.

"When you do solid songs, people will always remember you. That's how I can maintain myself. a lot of my income is from dub plates," he said.

Though happy with the progress his career is making, Guidance would love to collaborate with Bounty Killer.

"He's great and he has helped a lot of artistes. I'd also like to collaborate with Kartel, and bring him on the Rastafari path. Maybe that's what he needs to get free up," he said.

He also touched on the current state of the music industry, saying whereas 'gimmicks' artistes maybe running the place, they always have to try harder to stay current.

He also has a message for his 'co-workers' in the music industry.

"Live as one. You're not too old to say I'm sorry. You have to do what you have to do to make it in this industry. A lot of people will try to put you down and tell you that you're not gonna make it, but you have to push on," he said.
