Despite the drought currently facing sections of the island, there was quite a spectacle in the Swallowfield community in St Andrew yesterday after a National Water Commission pipe broke.

The amount of water gushing out of the broken pipe was so massive that it created a huge hole in the road. Scores of persons gathered to get a glimpse of the damage, while children took the opportunity to play in the pool of water.
