Motorcyclist killed in accident

A motorcyclist lost his life yesterday in a vehicular collision along the Pennants main road in Chapelton, Clarendon, while the driver of the ill-fated vehicle was beaten by an angry mob before being rescued by the police.

The dead man, who has since been identified as Caen 'Lexi' Heron from a Summerfield address in Clarendon, was killed yesterday afternoon when his motorbike collided with a minibus heading to May Pen.

According to an eyewitness, Heron was travelling in the direction of Serge Island in the Pennants area, and on rounding a curve, he encountered a parked mini bus on his side of the road. The parked bus suddenly drove off, slamming into the motorbike, killing Heron on the spot.

"As the man a come round the corner, is the bus that, and it just drive off into him, killing the youth same place," an onlooker claimed.

The eyewitness also added that the bus driver was also attacked by an angry mob and had to seek refuge in a nearby house before he was whisked away by the police.
