![]() Devin Di Dakta The Ocho Rios-based YGF Records/Junkyard Music Productions and the Canadian-based Street Platinum label have joined musical forces to create the Bicycle Frame rhythm, and has released a compilation on iTunes. "The Bicycle Frame rhythm is the hot rhythm to end the summer and set the momentum for Christmas," Tevin Richards, CEO of YGF Records, told The Star. The Bicylce Frame rhythm features five of Jamaica's promising, upcoming artistes in Shawn Storm, Magnum King of the Dancehall Devin Di Dakta, Teflon, Jahvillani and Toronto-based artiste, Negus. Shawn Storm's track, Clean, was premiered by Johnny Kool of Zip FM and has been getting rotation on that station and also on Hitz 92 FM. Devin Di Dakta's single, Jamaica, was released on Independence Day. The track, which tells a story about the good and the bad that is happening in Jamaica, has some very catchy lyrics, which show why he won the Magnum King of the Dancehall title. Teflon's song, Ragga Muffin, shows the artiste's versatility and hardcore lyrics style as his story depicts wealthy lifestyle and speaks to protecting his own and people. Meanwhile, Press One, the track by Negus, draws attention to the strength of the ghetto youth who have withstood the pressures of being forced to join gangs, as Jahvillani's Garrison tells the story of the garrison and how to survive donmanship. The rhythm is also getting attention in New York, where it was recently premiered by DJ Ashani. |
