A man accused of robbing a woman of her cellular phone was granted bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday. Charged with robbery with aggravation is Theodore Tapper of Andrews Pen Lane, Kingston 8. He pleaded not guilty. Allegations are that, on October 16, 2013, approximately 7 p.m., Tapper and another man followed the female complainant along Halifax Avenue, Kingston 6. The complainant noticed she was being trailed and stopped as she grew suspicious. It is said the other man pounced upon her while Tapper acted as a lookout. She was robbed of her BlackBerry cellular phone. Both men reportedly fled the scene. Tapper's co-accused was previously sentenced to three months' imprisonment. Tapper, was picked up on an executed warrant. He was granted $70,000 bail, with surety, by Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey. He returns to court on November 2 for trial. |
