Star Tell Me Pastor

My parents disapprove of my child's father

I am a young woman attending the University of the West Indies.

My aim is to become a social worker. I am also a mother. I got pregnant when I was 15.

I did not know how to talk to my parents about the pregnancy.

I admitted having a relationship with the man who got me pregnant.

My parents did not like him. They said he was not good enough for me.

They didn't consider him good enough to even be their gardener.

When he got me pregnant, they decided to report the matter to the police, so he went missing. He could not be found.

Dear P,

I am glad you are doing well and trying to get tertiary education.

I suppose, by now, you have come to realise your parents meant well.

They were not wrong by getting the police involved. You were under the age of consent. It was the duty of your parents to report the matter to the police.

However, I hope that this man is supporting his child. May the good Lord bless and keep you strong.

Pastor
