Police attached to the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC), arrested and charged one man for fraudulent conversion on Monday, September 7. Charged is 24-year-old Nicholas Dennis, software engineer, of Kensington Crescent, Kingston 5. Reports are that in June, Dennis was contracted to develop software applications on behalf of the complainant. The complainant allegedly paid Dennis $197,000 to create said applications. Dennis, however, failed to create the applications and gave several excuses when the complainant made queries regarding the state of the applications. A report was made to the authorities and following investigations, Dennis was arrested and charged. He is scheduled to appear in the Half-Way Tree Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday, October 6. |
