Fast & Furious 'Flash'

Sher: Bwoy, I don't know, but some Jamaican taxi man drive bad enuh. True, true.

Ren: Anno lie man. Yuh memba wen wi tek di taxi downtown and it took us about 10 minutes to get to Papine in the evening traffic? The driver move like Flash.

Sher: Yes Ren, when mi inna Flash taxi, mi did feel like mi inna Fast and Furious. Now nuh get mi wrong, mi nuh like boring drivers, but 'Flash' drive like is one lane and one car deh pon di road. Him disregard everything and tek it fi himself.

Ren: Man! Flash drive like him inna karate show. Him handle di car like a toy. You waan see him a undertake and tun him head behind him a hol' good good conversation with di passenger dem inna di back seat.

Sher:Yes, mi memba! We were so shocked at this driver's recklessness, wi did affi ask him "yuh cyaan tek time drive?" Dat never mek him shame and tek time, him only seh (in a very course voice), "no, a so mi drive," as him swing di car violently across the road.

Ren: Mi ask him if it no tek more gas when him deal wid di car so and that's when he started to tell us that he drives a special car. It special fi true. Flash explained that his car is an old car from back in the day. He told us it only looks modern because the doors, the engine, the steering wheel and the seats were taken from different cars to refurbish the old one.

Sher: Ren dat still never justify the Fast and Furious driving. At one point, mi come outta mi state of shock and start laugh afta everything him seh. Di story get more interesting when Flash reveal seh him nuh worry bout gas because a boat gas him use. A first me ever hear dat!

Ren: True Sher. We learn something new everyday. A when Flash go tell wi seh him couldn't deh wid we because him teach all a fi him woman dem fi drive an' a same so dem haffi drive hard like him. But we couldn't deh wid him neither cause heart attack would be our portion.

Sher: We tell him say we nah drive back inna him taxi, but we were joking because in the 10-minute drive from downtown, we realised that Flash was a jovial and nice person, and though we hated his driving, we liked his spirit - a lot. As he let us off in Papine and sped down the road, we thanked God we had arrived safely and prayed for journeying mercies for Flash.
