Hot on the heels of two major collaborations with Gramps Morgan and I-Octane, her single, 'Cheating', has been getting heavy rotation on local airwaves. The song, produced by Leroy 'Sugar Roy' Moore (from the duo Sugar Roy and Conrad Crystal) on the 'Shanty Town' rhythm, was released more a week ago and is already creating a buzz. "People have been calling and requesting the song. It has been getting a lot of airplay so it's really going great," she said. "People are intrigued because when they hear the song they think it has to do with infidelity in male/female relationships, but it actually speaks to a relationship with music, cheating with music." The song is on YouTube and is also on SoundCloud. Video Dasia is flying on the song's momentum, and plans to release a video. "We're already working on the video. We don't want to give anything away because we are still in the planning stages but we are working on it," said Dasia, who is compiling her EP for release in coming months and her album for early next year. Future projects will feature work with a number of artistes including another with Gramps Morgan. A video for their first collab will be released soon. Listing Marcia Griffiths and Tanya Stephens as persons she admires, Dasia said it would be a blessing to work with any of them. "Those two ladies are women that I really admire. People often compare me to them, and it would be an honour to work with them on a song," she told THE Weekend STAR. shereita.grizzle@gleanerjm.com |
