![]() Justus Arison ![]() Blak Ryno Record producer Justus Arison of JA Productions has rubbished claims which have emerged on the Internet that Blak Ryno has terminated his contract and is now signed to a new overseas-based company. According to Arison, known for his popular 'Overproof' rhythm, Blak Ryno tried to swindle his way out of the contract through unethical means. "The man beg fi mi terminate him contract, and when me ask him why, him say him done with music. Then few days later me hear seh him sign to a different entity, which legally is not possible. Him tek man fi fool. But the greatest thing is we completed an album and that was the goal from start. Ryno is still signed to the JA productions label until further notice. We are looking forward to the album release in the next 30 days," he said. Arison said that despite Blak Ryno's insistence that JA Productions delayed his debut album, he would be going ahead with the release of the project this fall. "Blak Ryno is still officially signed to JA productions and has people in New York walking round saying him sign to someone else. Ryno has a few years left on his contract and legally JA productions is entitled to 20 per cent of his earnings, but we not even a watch dat cause him need it more than me," Arison said. Album deal Ryno signed a four-year album deal with JA Productions over a year ago and also released a single, Side Chick under the label. When contacted by The WEEKEND STAR yesterday, Blak Ryno did not deny the claims, instead stating he was not ready to speak on the issue. However, he promised to comment later in the day, but up to news time, there was no response. JA Productions also signed Navino and Byrd Villain in previous years. However, since the death of record producer Patrick 'Roach' Samuels, both artistes have gone under the radar. Blak Ryno also left the Vybz Kartel-led Portmore Empire in 2010, citing internal issues. The artiste also made headlines in 2015 stating that he was aiming to start his own brand of water. |
