Woman STABBED FOR Facebook diss

A man who used a photo of his lover as a WhatsApp display picture said his current girlfriend saw it then publicly embarrassed him on Facebook, causing him to beat and stab her.

When the matter was called up on Friday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court, the accused, Chevaughn Morris, pleaded guilty with explanation and was later offered bail in the sum of $50,000.

Morris is charged with unlawful wounding. The court was told that on September 1, he punched the complainant in her face and head, then used a ratchet knife to cut her.

Morris told the court, "I have a next girlfriend ... I put her on my Whatsapp. She (complainant) saw it and went on Facebook and class me up all type a way ... I felt embarrassed."

He continued: "When I saw her, she rush me with a knife and we start tussle and she get cut ... me get a likkle cut as well."

Court return

Resident Magistrate Grace Henry-McKenzie then offered Morris bail with one surety. He is to return to court on September 11.

A fingerprint order was also made against Morris.
