Lawmen investigate St Catherine shootings |

Rasbert Turner, Star Writer Up to late last night, the police were still investigating the shooting of five persons in separate incidents in St Catherine on Sunday night. The shootings took place at Lakes Pen, the Spanish Town Shopping Centre, and Old Market Street all in St Catherine. Reports are that about 9:30 p.m. residents of Old Market Street heard explosions. Checks later revealed the body of a male with gunshot wounds. This followed the fatal shooting of another man at the Spanish Town Shopping Centre. Meanwhile, about 7:30 p.m., persons were at a bar in Lakes Pen when explosions were heard. After the shooting subsided, two men and a woman were found suffering from gunshot wounds. The areas were still very tense with visible police presence throughout. Persons who spoke said the murders came a week after the police said that there was a reduction in murders in the St Catherine North division. |
