Two men remained in custody after the police seized a Taurus 9-millimetre pistol and a magazine loaded with seventeen 9-millimetre rounds in Kingston early yesterday morning. The police Corporate Communication Unit (CCU) reports that the arrests were made by two off-duty policemen about 10 minutes after 3, as they travelled home from work. The CCU says the policemen had observed two men coming from a dance in the area who aroused their suspicion. They say one of them pulled a firearm from his waistband and discharged a round and then handed the weapon to another man, who placed it in his waistband. The lawmen accosted both men, searched them, and seized the firearm and ammunition. |
