Neighbours and Manning Cup rivals, St George's College and Kingston College (KC), will lock horns in an exciting pre-season Roper Cup clash, which will be held at the Sabina Park cricket ground in Kingston on Saturday.

The traditional North Street battle will mark its 51st renewal this year. KC are current title holders after a 1-0 win last year.

Veteran St George's coach, Neville 'Bertis' Bell, says his charges are looking to turn the tables, and return the cup 'home' to St George's.

"KC against St George's at any level, in any kind of competition, is always something to behold, so we look forward to it (Roper Cup)," Bell pointed out.

"It's a practice game, but we want to win," stressed Bell.

Meanwhile, Ludlow Bernard, incoming KC coach, said development is his goal in his first season in charge at his alma mater, but he would love to win the 'prestigious Roper Cup.'

"The approach this year is one which is going to be strictly development, we have some very good young kids in the group and we want to give them as much exposure as possible this year," Bernard outlined.

Bernard recently joined KC from Wolmer's Boy's school after three years in charge, where he led them to the Walker Cup KO title and Manning Cup final in 2013.
