Dear Pastor,

My husband and his twin brother are so different. His twin brother is a bookworm. He has two degrees, a bachelor's and a master's. He is always studying. My husband did not go further than high school. He is smart but does not like to study. He can hold a good conversation and is good at Mathematics. He is much better than I, but I can't get him to go back to school. He works for himself. We are not rich but can pay our bills and have our own home, but I wish my husband would be like his brother and have degrees behind his name.

How can I get him to go back to school?

Dear S.M.,

Leave the man alone. He does not want to go back to school. He is getting ahead with the measure of education that he has. A person does not have to have degrees to be wise, function well or to be progressive. You know that well because your husband has proven that to be true. You believe when a man has degrees behind his name, people will think he is smart, but that is not necessarily true. Leave him alone.

When you got married to him you knew how he felt about school. Don't try to change him now.
