Twenty-four-year-old Kimika Jones of Felicity Road, Montego Bay, St James, is breathing a sigh of relief as her request for financial assistance to help with medical expenses has been answered.

Jones needed $60,000 to undergo surgery on her kidneys. Worried that her condition would worsen before she was able to come up with that amount, Jones reached out to the public, and her request was answered when a trio from overseas put the money together and wired it to the family.

Jamaican-born US-based recording artiste Lady Genius; New Jersey-based reggae singer Dr Love; and Josso, CEO of Josso Carpentry in New Jersey, were all touched by the story made public by theSTAR recently and decided to lend a helping hand to Jones.

Dr Love read the article and shared it with Lady Genius and Josso, who all agreed to help the situation by donating.

Jones' brother was very happy and grateful when he received the call from Dr Love. "God has sent us three angels, and we are grateful for the response and the help," said Orlando Powell.

Lady Genius said she was very touched by the situation. "This is a very sensitive issue that is very frequent in our little country, but what bothers me most is the blind eye that is turned to these pains," she said.

The three were very happy that they could have helped the situation, and hope that the government will pay more attention to the persons in need of medical assistance.
