Man claims to punch woman in self-defence

A man who was hauled before the court on Friday for punching a woman in her mouth, said he did so to defend himself after the complainant found out that he had sex with her cousin.

Charged with unlawful wounding is Michael Jackson.

He pleaded guilty to the offence and offered the court an explanation.

When the matter was called up in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court, Jackson said that the complainant first hit him with an iron pipe and he retaliated.

He said, "She found out I had sex with her cousin and she hit me with the pipe iron, then I thump her in her mouth."

Sex tape

The complainant, however, refuted those claims and told the court, "Your honour, him and his entourage attack me!"

Resident Magistrate Simone Maddix said, "Well, Michael Jackson must have an entourage."

Jackson said, "A me alone, cause if mi did have entourage she woulda mash up."

The court also heard that Jackson had another matter before the court in relation to a sex tape.

Both matters were set for October 5.

He will stand trial in this matter, while the alleged sex-tape case will be mentioned.

A fingerprint order was made against Jackson.
