Constable kills girlfriend then shoots himself |

Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) were paying their last respects to slain colleague, Constable Lynden Barrette, yesterday, when news broke that another colleague died in what is believed to be a murder-suicide. Dead are 28-year-old Constable Rajon Stephens of Jacks River, St Mary, who worked at the Hunts Bay Police Station, and his girlfriend, 23-year-old Kadeen Hunter, a teacher from Camelot Avenue, Kingston 20. Reports are that about 4:19 a.m., Stephens reportedly telephoned Hunter's mother informing her that her daughter was shot. The police were alerted and on their arrival, Hunter was seen lying along the roadway with gunshot wounds. She was taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead. Second officer Approximately two hours after, Stephens was found in a Nissan Sunny motor car on the Aqualita Vale main road in St Mary suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital where he died about 7:54 a.m. This is the second officer in less than a month who is believed to have committed suicide. On July 28, 33-year-old Corporal Tyrone Thompson, who worked at the Four Paths Police Station, was found shot dead in his home in what is suspected to be suicide.
