Dancehall star Macka Diamond launched the video for her new single, 'Masquita One', on Wednesday, August 19 at the Smurf Turf bar on Anderson Road in Woodford Park, Kingston.

The launch was attended by dozens of Macka Diamond's fans, dancers, Billboard producer Troyton Remi, who produced the single, producer Markus Myrie, street guru Stampede Lammie and music video director Carlington Wilmot. Artistes such as Chino, Alize, Black Queen and LA Lewis were also present.

The crowd 'oohed' and 'aahed' at the video, which was replayed several times on a large projection screen set up outside the bar. The crowd especially loved the scene with Macka Diamond dancing on the train line in Spanish Town, wearing a purple-and-black suit that they dubbed "the vendetta suit".

LA Lewis provided comic relief by 'bigging up' Macka Diamond's many accolades, even dubbing her "the female Vybz Kartel' and the "female LA Lewis".

Macka Diamond thanked her many supporters for their overwhelming loyalty.

"I want to thank my fans, my friends, and the media for their support over the years. I cannot tell you how much your energy and belief have helped me over the years," she said.

Macka Diamond's Weave song was a big hit at the launch, playing for about 10 minutes while over 10 dancing females did several antics to the amusement of the crowd.

She is booked to perform on the International Pop Montreal Festival between September 16 to 20.

"It will be my first time on this festival. based on my research, it will be five days of music, art, panels, workshops, films and crafts, and I will be representing dancehall-reggae. More than 400 bands are scheduled to play in more than 50 venues across the city, mostly located in the Mile End area of Montreal, it is a great event," she said.
