Accused murderers to reappear in court today

Christopher Thomas, STAR Writer

WESTERN BUREAU:

Two men accused of killing a woman and her two-year-old daughter are to reappear in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court today. Abail application will be renewed on their behalf.

Rohan Thompson and Ryan Williams are charged for the shooting deaths of 33-year-old farmer Nicole Luton and her two-year-old daughter, Saskia Mullings.

They have also been charged for wounding Luton's common-law husband. They were remanded when they appeared in court yesterday.

Allegations are that, on March 5, at approximately 11 p.m., Luton, her common-law husband, and the child were at home when attackers entered the yard and opened fire, killing the woman, baby and wounding her common-law husband.

The injured man was caried to hospital. Following investigations, Williams and Thompson were arrested and charged.

On Tuesday, presiding magistrate Sandria Wong-Small indicated she would need to review the file against the two accused, since the court had previously been told identification was an issue for the defence attorneys.

The matter was subsequently set for mention today.
