Dancehall artiste King Ali Baba has released his new EP, 'Been Through It/Are You Ready?' which features nine tracks on adrenaline-pumping dancehall beats.

"This EP is very special because it is all-authentic dancehall. Most of the tracks are produced on my own label, Mek Money Records," he said.

Other producers on the EP include Golds Records for Are You Ready? and Triple 7 Records on Been Through It. Another standout song is Cleanest of the Clean.

Release platforms

The EP, was released during the first week of August, is available on a number of platforms such as iTunes, YouTube, Xbox and Tunecore.

"The video for Are You Ready? is doing well on Swag TV in Portmore, mi a get a great response," he said.

King Ali Baba has developed a great fan base in Eastern Europe with his unique brand of reggae. Years ago, songs such as Out There reached number one on radio in Serbia and the video reached number eight on MTV Adria, which broadcasts to Serbia, Bosnia, Slovenia, Macedonia and Croatia.

King Ali Baba's latest single, Poor and have Not is number four on the Under Pressure Reggae top 20 in Italy. The single Tippy Toe made major waves in Jamaica and the Caribbean years ago.

Born in Clarendon but raised in Spanish Town, King Ali Baba was exposed to extreme poverty and lawlessness in small pockets of his community, but persevered through Rastafari.

King Ali Baba has been working on his album, which will be released on his own record label later this year. In the meantime, he has been compiling singles.
