JAHMIEL IMPRESSES AT MARCUS GARVEY TRIBUTE |
|||||
![]() Jahmiel - Contributed Influenced by the teachings of the late Marcus Garvey, national hero of Jamaica, reggae artiste Jahmiel was ecstatic about his inclusion on the line-up of the recently promoted Irie FM Marcus Garvey Celebration. Held inside the courtyard at the Irie FM offices in Ocho Rios, St Ann, the event saw performances from a number of up and coming as well as established artistes. Great experience "It was a great experience for me performing for a crowd with mostly elders and being well received by them because, truth is, they don't go for anything. It has to be something of substance. I felt honoured to be a part of the Marcus Garvey celebrations," said Jahmiel. With an abbreviated set comprising songs such as Real Father, his latest hit, Gain the World, and United (which was inspired by Garvey), Jahmiel delivered a performance worthy of commendation. Applauded As colleagues, well wishers and fellow industry peers watched, many applauded the youngster for his stage craft and properly executed delivery. "Marcus Garvey had and still has a positive impact on how I do music and my daily living. Reason being, Marcus Garvey stood for the upliftment of us as a people, which I felt connected to," Jahmiel shared. Jahmiel, who recently returned to the island after a scintillating performance in Grenada, is currently promoting his new single Heartbreak, which was produced by Spanish Town-based Quantanium Records. Among his forthcoming releases are A Just Life, produced by Pay Day Music, and True Colours, produced by Konsequence Muzik.
