CURTIS Campbell, STAR Writer Jamaica-born American rapper Safaree is currently in the island, where he is expected to film a music video featuring Ward 21, as well as host a pool party calledToxicity this Sunday. Known for his work with Nicki Minaj and his strong social media following, the rapper says he wants to expose the better side of Jamaica. "I'm gonna be shooting my video for the song I call Volume. It's with me, Ward 21, the whole mad family, Stunt Gang to the world, yu zeet. Everywhere I go, I just wanna shoot it all over Jamaica. I don't wanna be one of those people in America that go to the islands and only shoot videos in the slums and show the ghettos. I wanna show that Jamaica is a beautiful place because I need people out here (the United States) to know that Jamaica is one of the most beautiful places on this earth and I want to capture and show that in my video," Safaree said in a recent interview. Popular USA personalities The single, Volume, is a remix to the Ward 21 hit record Blood Stain, released in 2000. According to Rum Blood of the group, the single was a long-time favourite of Safaree and Nicki Minaj. "Me and Safaree met at his restaurant in California and he told me of the idea for the remix, stating that he and Nicki knew the song from they were younger. Like two days later, he started working on the verses and I sent the track to Kungly and Suku so that they could record their parts because they were in New York at the time. Overall, the vibes was good and Safaree was very excited," he said. Rum Blood is also a part of the Toxicity pool party production team and says he would like to bring popular US personalities like Amber Rose and Black Chyna to Jamaica for other stagings of the event. "This party is something new and we will be bringing several popular persons here. People can expect a surprise in December," he said. Safaree was recently embroiled in a feud with fellow rapper Meek Mill and released a 'diss' song called Lifeline. He also released singles Love The Most and Burner.
