Dancer raped, nightclub manager charged

A popular businessman has been charged with rape following reports that he allegedly sexually assaulted one of his dancers at the club he manages sometime last month, THE STAR understands.

Information reaching our news team is that the businessman appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court recently and was granted bail in the sum of $200,000 with one or two sureties plus conditions.

Reports are that the 21-year-old complainant was employed as a dancer, for little over a week at the establishment located in the Corporate Area, when the incident occurred.

According to police reports, the incident took place on July 20, about 9 p.m.

A report was made to the Centre for Investigation of Sexual Offences and Child Abuse and the businessman was charged with the offence last week.

He is scheduled to appear before the court again later this month.
