Sylvia Grant threw a season's best (22.5m) in the women's discus F56/57 to place fifth in a formidable field at the Para P an Am Games in Toronto, Canada.

It was a good performance from Grant, who started the season late due to

commitments overseas. She now turns her focus to the women's javelin F57, where she will renew her bid for a championship medal.

Jamaica Paralympic Association president, Christopher Samuda, lauded Grant for her mettle and determination and expressed optimism that she will find success in Doha, where the IPC Athletics World Championships will take place in October.

Team Jamaica's medal count now stands at five - two gold, two silver, and one bronze.
