Pleasing the Lord

GEORGE HENRY, STAR Writer

NAME: Rose Francis

CHURCH YOU ATTEND: I attend the Tower of Faith Ministries church in the British Virgin Islands but I am from the Sanguinetti New Testament Church of God in Clarendon.

POSITION IN THE CHURCH: Sunday-school teacher.

HOW LONG SINCE BEING SAVED: I have been saved for 36 years.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR MOMENT OF CONVICTION: The examples set by my Christian grand-parents had a lot of influence in the making of my decision to start serving God. They brought us up in the church at Sanguinetti; and the life that they lived really influenced and encouraged me to follow the Lord. The fact that Jesus died and rose from the dead for my sins, also helped me to understand that I needed to serve Him. I was brought up with the understanding that Jesus is Lord; and so my conviction to serve Him was not difficult. Realising that there is a Hell to shun and a Heaven to gain also helped me to decide that I needed to serve God.

MOST CHALLENGING TIME SINCE BEING SAVED: My most challenging time had to do with me trying to live a life to please people and not pleasing God. I was trying to impress people in doing what they wanted me to do, instead of focusing on God and what He would require of me.

MOST MIRACULOUS MOMENT SINCE BEING SAVED: Doctors said I could not have any children, and after many challenges of having to go through several procedures without success, prayer and fasting proved them all wrong. My strong faith in God gave me the desire of my heart, because I now have two sons.

MESSAGE TO CHRISTIANS: Live a life trusting in God. Live a life pleasing Him and not pleasing man; knowing that it is not what man says, but what God says. At the end of the day, you will have to be answerable to God and not man. Live your life good for the Lord and try to stay away from cliques, because we are blessed individually. God is the one who judges us, and he is the one who looks inside of us and know if we are true or false. Live according to how God wants us to live and not how other persons would want us to live.

MESSAGE TO NON-CHRISTIANS: Jesus is coming soon. Whether you believe it or not, He is coming soon. Our soul is the most important thing that God has given us and we ought to preserve it for Him, by giving our life to Him and serve Him in spirit and in truth. Be thankful for the breath that He has lent us. Give your life to Jesus and He will change you radically.

FAVOURITE BIBLE SCRIPTURE: Psalm 23

A LINE FROM A FAVOURITE SONG: "Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world".
