Accused 'finds' appliances under tree |

|
A man on several larceny charges told the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate Court he found the stolen goods under a mango tree. Ojay Hoyes of Golden Spring, St Andrew, claimed he was picking mangoes when he saw two bags under the tree and took them up. Hoyes told the court he was seen by a policemen with the bags shortly after. Hoyes is facing three counts of housebreaking, larceny and receiving stolen property. Police reports said the accused was seen in the vicinity of Diamond Road with a blue and white Nike travelling bag containing items. The items found in the bag included two laptop computers, a computer monitor, two watches, items of clothing, among other things. The police said the accused was not able to give a satisfactory account for the items. Hoyes was remanded until September 25. |
