Location turns 3 customers into millionaires

A sign prominent at the front of Chong Lotto Agency boasts to passers-by that there is more to the small building than meets the eye.

The Supreme Venture's Agency, located at 12 1/2 South Camp Road, is being hailed as the 'lucky lotto shop' by its owner, as three customers have become multimillionaires after purchasing their tickets at the establishment.

The winner of the highest lotto jackpot ever to be won in Jamaica - $395 million - is among the three persons who have seen life-changing earnings after buying a ticket wager at Lloyd Chong's business.

Generated interest

Chong expressed joy at the success of his customers and felt particularly happy about the biggest winner.

"Me just happy that me (my agency) get the biggest one," he said.

The proprietor said he had not seen the winner of the lotto since he won, but he was happy for the new millionaire.

Chong told THE STAR that the sign advertising that two persons had become multi-millionaires after purchasing their winning tickets there has generated interest from persons passing the building.

"People stop by just because of the sign because they believe it is good luck," he said.

In 2013, a customer pocketed $41 million after purchasing a ticket at Chong's agency. But the two recent winners are not his only success stories, as Chong said in the 1990s, before Supreme Ventures Limited took over from the Jamaica Lottery Company, he had a customer who won $9 million in the lotto.

Having been in operation for over 20 years, Chong told THE STAR his business receives a bonus from Supreme Ventures when a multimillion dollar winning ticket is purchased there, but he declined to disclose the amount.

And, based on the luck that seems to follow his business, Chong said, "Come down because we have the lucky charm at our shop when you buy a ticket from us."
