Bahamian reggae artiste Marca T hopes for his long-awaited breakthrough in the tough music arena. His single, titled 'Island Paradise', is already creating waves in the Caribbean.

Marca T is confident about the new single because it connects with the culture of Caribbean people. "I am happy with the song and have high expectations for this single," Marca T told The STAR recently. "We are also in the process of putting together songs for my debut album in the future," he disclosed.

Marca T has been visiting Jamaica for many years and loves the birthplace of reggae and dancehall music. Hence, he chose to shoot a video for Island Paradise here. The video was completed last month.

"Well, I have been visiting Jamaica since the early 1990s and I love it in Jamaica. It is a beautiful island and I also love the people, culture and food. This is the land of reggae and I'm always happy to visit here," Marca T said.

Conscious, a disc jockey also from The Bahamas who travelled with Marca T, was also impressed with the new single.

"Island Paradise has a solid rhythm aided by great lyrical content. You have to move to this song," Conscious, a veteran radio DJ, said. "When the song is played, we always get overwhelming responses, people gravitate towards it. It has great potential to be a hit as it is a sweet song," he said.

Marca T, christened Marc Tucker, released the song under his own Marca T Music label. The rhythm track was completed by Jamaican veteran producer Jimmy Hines.
