![]() Kerk Milan Kerk Milan releases 'Picture on The Wall' Kerk Milan is an artiste on a mission and that mission is to be another voice taking reggae to the world. He has been honing his talent for a while now - at local dances, events such as Star Waves and Saddle To The East - wherever he gets the opportunity to showcase his talent - he is ready and willing. Although it has not been an easy road in trying to establish himself as a bona fide artiste, the man, born Rory Beckford, has no intention of giving up. After being lured into the industry listening to influences such as Wayne Wonder, Beres Hammond, Sanchez, Pinchers, Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Cocoa Tea, Sanchez, Romaine Virgo, Bounty Killer and Beenie Man, to name a few, he said he has his own message-filled materials ready to unleash. He has just released a song produced by First Name Music titled Picture On The Wall. "It's jazzy and I think listeners will enjoy it," he said of the
project, which is already enjoying some spins. Kerk Milan is never the one to promote negative lyrics in his songs and does not support any artiste who incorporates negativity in his/her songs. "Right now, we need to change the trend, music is a healing force and with all that's happening in Jamaica, it's time that music help in turning things around," he said. Milan is in the process of penning some social commentary songs, and he is also urging his fellow artistes to be cognisant of what's happening around them and add their voices to it too. Looking ahead, Milan said his dream is to become a household name as well as an artiste with global impact. |
