Cops remand murder suspect

A man is now in custody following a special operation at a nightclub on Gloucester Avenue in Montego Bay, St James, yesterday.

Reports from the Montego Bay Police are that the accused was wanted in connection with the murder of Jermaine Jackson, who was shot and killed along Gloucester Avenue in the parish on Sunday, June 28. It is alleged that Jackson was along with friends on the mentioned road when he left to purchase food at a nearby shop, when his car was intercepted by another motor car.

It is further alleged that unknown assailant(s) alighted from that vehicle and opened fire at Jackson's motor car. He was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The identity of the man is being withheld, pending further investigations.
