Having gained much traction from the national team's outstanding recent international campaigns, the Jamaica Football Federation's (JFF) head, Captain Horace Burrell, said the wheels are in motion to propel the Reggae Boyz's journey to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

Jamaica's men disposed of CONCACAF rivals the United States of America 2-1 on their way to a historic CONCACAF Gold Cup final berth.

Despite losing in the final 3-1 to Mexico, the captain noted that the football world was impressed with the team.

"We are hoping to announce shortly a JFF marketing arm that will be headed by an interesting personality who we hope will be able to encourage corporate Jamaica to come on board," he said.

"We have a number of things in the pipeline to be released shortly that we hope will encourage the revenue intake of our programme," he told STAR Sports.

The team's next assignment is a World Cup Qualifier against Nicaragua inside the National Stadium, on September 4.

"Now the team is playing well, people want to see them. We are expecting no less than a stadium filled to capacity, to send a message to the players that the people appreciate how they have been performing, and that they are willing to support," he stressed.

Buoyed by possibilities ahead, Burrell added, the JFF is calling on all stakeholders to throw their support behind the programme.

"We do expect a lot of interest in the game, coming out of a very successful performance both in the Copa America and Gold Cup. A lot of patrons and a lot of members in the diaspora will have a lot more interest in how the Boyz are performing," he said.
