LIVINGSTON SCOTT, STAR Writer Telecommunications company LIME/FLOW is now the exclusive telecom partner of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) for the next two years. The entities announced a sponsorship deal worth $28 million at the Terra Nova Hotel, Kingston, yesterday. The deal will include National Senior and Junior Championships, Carifta Trials and Championships, Junior Central America and Caribbean Games, JAAA Development meets, and the Jamaica International Invitational Meet. "We will make sure the fans feel our presence at these events," LIME Brand Manager, Stephen Miller said. He called on corporate rivals to respect their rights or suffer the consequences. "We respect the rights of all those who support athletics, and as such, we expect that our rights as exclusive telecom sponsor for all JAAA events will be fully respected. "Our exclusive advertising right as telecom sponsors at all these events will be safeguarded and fully enforced," he added. JAAA President Warren Blake said the team to the World Championships in Beijing could be the largest and most diverse and said every contribution they get toward the programme was well appreciated. "The cost to Beijing is formidable. The cost for airfare alone runs into $5 or $6 million. The need of the JAAA goes a far way than that, but this goes a significant way towards meeting our needs and we are quite happy for this partnership," said Blake. |
