Possible upgrade in charge for man charged with wounding

A man charged with wounding is clinging to hope that when next he appears in court, the charge will not be upgraded to murder, after a revelation made by the complainant's father.

Recently, when the matter was called up in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court, the accused, Kino Christian, was schedule to be interviewed for legal aid.

The complainant's father gave Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey an update on his son's condition.

He said, "He is still in hospital. He was stabbed in his stomach and side and damaged his liver; his belly and back are swollen".

Christian was remanded and returns to court today. Provision will be made for the victim to be interviewed at the hospital.
