Up to late last night, police said they were still conducting high level investigations into the circumstances under which gunmen robbed six firearms and more than 70 rounds of ammunition from a private security company in St Andrew on Saturday. It is reported that shortly after midnight, three men held up and robbed one of the company's guards of six .38 revolvers, 72 rounds of ammunition, a cellular phone and an undetermined sum of cash. The police have since urged members of the public who have information on the whereabouts of the robbers and the stolen firearms to come forward and assist in their investigations. The Jamaica Constabulary Force's Corporate Communications Unit says persons with information can contact Crime Stop at 311, police emergency number 119 or the nearest police station. |
