Policeman seizes colleague's gun during dispute

Tongues have been wagging in a Corporate Area community about an alleged showdown between two off-duty officers involved in a love triangle at the home of their lover, a policewoman, recently.

During the confrontation, a firearm was disarmed from one of the officers and returned to the station where they both work.

A close friend of one of the policemen involved in the triangle relayed what transpired to THE WEEKEND STAR. It is reported that one of the lawmen showed up at the house of the policewoman at the centre of the ordeal, while she was there with his colleague.

The source said, "Mi still in disbelief ... one day last week she (the policewoman) was at the house with one, and the next one show up unexpected. When the man look, him realise say a him squaddy. The two of dem apparently work at the same station, him (the one she was there with) did not want any trouble with his colleague especially because he knew him to be a married man."

Our news team was told that as soon as the officer on the outside was allowed entry, he was relieved of his service pistol.

"The man open the door and let him in and jam him same time and tek the gun off him. Him turn around and realise say it was his colleague and same time him explain to him say him never want no trouble and him must come collect the firearm at their station", the source explained.

Our news team gathered that the firearm was handed over to the station on the very same day of the incident.

Recently, when THE WEEKEND STAR visited the St Andrew Central police station, where the gun was allegedly turned over, the sub officer in charge said he was unaware of such an incident.

He said, "I have no knowledge of that it would have been an internal matter and therefore, I would not comment."
