Jamaica's team began its participation at the 2015 Special Olympics Summer Games on Saturday.

Jonathan Lowe won a gold medal in the 100m freestyle M14 class, while Leon Barclay of Special Olympics Jamaica won silver in the 50m breaststroke. Jamaica were beaten 1-0 by Korea in a football match.

The Special Olympics World Games features athletes with a variety of intellectual disabilities, including cerebral palsy, autism and Down's Syndrome, competing against one another, as well as alongside non-disabled participants in a series of 'unified sports' contests, as the Special Olympics boosts its inclusion agenda.
