SENIOR Jamaican cricketer Odean Brown is expected answer to an independent anti-doping disciplinary panel at the Conference Centre in Kingston today. While the reasons for the cricketer's hearing remain unknown, the panel is expected to be chaired by former director of public prosecutions (DPP) Ken Pantry, with other members of the legal, sporting, and or medical profession expected to join. When contacted, Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission executive director Carey Brown confirmed that the scheduled hearing would in fact take place. "I don't comment on legal issues, it's a principle I have as it's a legal matter, so I don't comment on those matters. But let things run their course," said the JADCO boss. "Everybody has their rights, and I respect their rights, so I just let things run their natural course." Brown said that JADCO does not select the members or panellists of the disciplinary body but pointed to the Anti-doping in Sports Act, which explains how the members are selected. |
