Man kills stepmother in Gregory Park |

The St Catherine South police are on the hunt for a man said to be of unsound mind who they believe is the prime suspect in a fatal chopping involving his stepmother in Gregory Park, St Catherine, yesterday. Information reaching THE STAR is that 50-year-old Violet Alcott of Gregory Park was found dead at her house yesterday morning. The Caymanas police who are investigating the matter said a family member reported the incident at 1:30 a.m. THE STAR gathered that residents heard noise coming from Alcott's home and went to check. Our news team understands that on arrival, the woman was found bleeding from multiple chops wounds on the floor of a room in the house. The attacker escaped in the area. A senior officer with knowledge of the investigation confirmed with THE STAR that Alcott's stepson, whose name is being withheld, is the prime suspect. The police also confirmed that he is of unsound mind. Investigations are ongoing. - A.W. |
