Final face-off in Kickout Thursdays tomorrow

Popular promoter and radio personality DJ Smurf is looking forward to the finals of his event, Smurf Turf Kickout Thursdays 45 Shootout tomorrow in Woodford Park, Kingston at the Smurf Turf bar.

The finalists are DJ Unknown and Mainframe, facing off against Rassarella from Zion Train sound.

"This week, we will be having a celebrity face-off between two judges as a warm-up to the finals - with resident judge Little Wicked, formerly of 4X4 Exodus and Delta Force, versus Little Richie. This is highly anticipated, just as much as the finals," DJ Smurf said.

There will be a grand prize of $15,000 and a trophy for the overall champion of the clash series. The celebrity judge this week is Maestro from Swatch International.

"The feedback and crowd support has been tremendous. We had eight weeks of competition which got better every week, so the climax is going to be incredible. The second series will commence immediately after the holiday weekend and I am accepting new entries now," Smurf said.

Music industry insiders recognise Kickout Thursdays as a great showcase for up-and-coming deejays and selectors to face off in a friendly musical clash.

"They have been instructed to keep it clean. No profanity and discrimination will be allowed. Remember that this event is taking place in a residential community and we have to take the residents into consideration," DJSmurfsaid.

The eight contestants of the first series were Fire British from Woodford Park, DJ Insane, DJ Unknown and Mainframe, Zion Train International with Rassarella, Judgement Squad with DJ Mouse, Glory Squad, DJ Sheldon and DJ Tall Sleeve. Now only two are left.

DJ Smurf encourages patrons to come out and see who will be the last man standing.
