Konshens pleases at Reggae Sumfest

Konshens

Dancehall artiste Konshens, despite not having a red-hot song in Jamaica over the past two years, emerged as a crowd-pleaser at the just- concluded Reggae Sumfest event.

Performing on Dancehall Night, Konshens utilised his extensive catalogue to win over his huge fan base as he performed a variety of songs that touched on many topics.

Recognised as one of the most in-demand dancehall acts worldwide, Konshens kicked off his set with So Mi Tan, then eased into Represent, Realest Medz, and the party anthem, Drink And Rave.

He then turned his attention to the females in the audience by delivering musical treats just for their consumption. Songs including Bad Gal, Gal A Bubble, Stop Sign, On Your Face, Walk And Wine kept the good vibe flowing.

The lights were then dimmed, setting the tone and mood for romance, as Konshens whetted the appetites of female fans with No Hesitation (I'm Coming). A segment dedicated to good parenting, and fathers in particular, saw songs such as She's Happy, Original Daddy and Winner being rolled.

The chart-topping single Do Sumn preceded some audience interaction as Konshens spoke about the state of dancehall music and encouraged fans to acknowledge the contribution of artistes who continue to work hard and spread Jamaican culture around the world.

His set came to a fitting end with Realest Song before giving praises to the almighty. The artiste had to leave the venue as he finished performing due to an overseas engagement.

"I'd like to apologise to all the media houses that wanted to have words with me, but I had to leave quickly after I finished performing to catch a flight to Anguilla," said Konshens in a release.

The performance in Anguilla went well despite a mini thunderstorm which drenched some of the equipment.
