God naah sleep!

Fi live inna Jamaica, one haffi have strong countenance, faith and a Bible at all times! When mi think about all that is happening in our beautiful country, weh some only brag pon when it is convenient, mi heart ache mi!

The nation still a try cope with the savage killing of the young and promising female police pon di bus, and yet another policeman has been killed.

Two inna one week is not a good look at all! Some people have some foul remarks fi pass, and mi hear seh a video a circulate, which has caused all kinds of allegations about the off-duty practices of the young lady.

Dem ting deh infuriate me because whether she did lean, bend or straight is irrelevant when it comes to taking one's life. Mi heart full when I saw her mom collect her associate degree, knowing her daughter, who worked so hard to achieve it, was denied the opportunity to collect it.

As a nation, if we don't start making a concerted uproar against these atrocities, our family member or friend might be next. Or even you! To how some people heart despicably wicked, if yuh alive yuh haffi give a whole heap a thanks! It shouldn't be like that because we not having a civil war or ethnic cleansing.

My condolences to the families and colleagues of the fallen officers, and I pray that there will be no more unjust or unlawful killing on either side - police and civil. Mi hear smaddy who a lambast police. Mi mek sure tell him that though he has a point, not all are bad. In all spheres of life, there are good and bad people. We have good and bad pastors! But at the end of the day, if anything bad happens, the only people yuh can really call is the police. Anno everybody have bad people fi come defend dem, so a 119 most people haffi dial!

Speaking of police, di story inna THE WEEKEND STAR bout the obeah woman weh the police discover wid the pickney dem pictures wid needles inna dem mek mi blood run cold! Believe kill and believe cure, and some persons may choose not to believe inna certain tings, but that doesn't mean it no exist.

If the allegations are true, it is very sad that a woman would be involved in trying fi 'tun down' other people's children! The same children in the community weh she might need fi beg go a shop fi her or help wid any likkle thing. The same children who, if she drop down inna her house, a dem haffi go render assistance!

Obeah is illegal in Jamaica, as per our Constitution. Not only are obeah workers breaking the law, dem a hold down other people. The time some people spen' a try hold down other people and dem pickney, dem could either spend it on doing good, or go down pon dem knees and pray! It's funny how some people will complain seh dem bruk and no have it, yet dem find the money fi go mix up inna iniquity at the drop of a hat!

My ting is; instead a go obeah smaddy else or dem pickney, why dem no spend the money fi obeah themself mek dem prosper? So instead a obeah someone else shop fi dem mash up, why not ask the obeah man/woman fi obeah fi dem shop so it tun up loud? Instead a wuk obeah fi tun down other people children fi no come to nutten, why not obeah fi dem pickney fi smart and get a scholarship fi go university when dem a 10?

Some a dem dutty, badmind people yah naah think! Dem fi memba seh God naah sleep and him no like ugly! The residents dem seh dem neva know seh tings like that a gwaan, and a police come discover and open the Pandora box!

That's why mi always encourage parents fi pray over dem pickney. A nuff wicked people, and powers and principalities out deh fi fight! We do not have to like everyone, but we must respect each other's life. None a we can't blow breath, not even who a buy or wuk obeah! Father God a di real big man and he wins everytime!!!
