The girlfriend of a popular selector recently suffered a fractured leg as a result of a dancing stunt gone wrong at Uptown Mondays.

The STAR understands that the woman in question was working as a bartender at the popular weekly event. She, however, received the shock of her life when acrobatic dancer Marvin and his female dance companion - while dancing to Thot Wine - jumped on the tent covering the bar, causing injury to the bartender's leg.

High platform

According to Marvin, who told THE STAR that he apologised for the mishap, he did not know someone would be hurt, as he was simply trying to outdo fellow dancer Shelly Belly, who earlier jumped from a high platform while carrying a female dancer around his hips.

"A mi brethren Radijah song, Thot Wine, did a play suh mi a sey mi a give mi brethren a forward. Me and Shelly Belly a go at it, then DJ Boom Boom start instigate a musical battle with me and Shelly Belly and two girls. Anyway, Shelly Belly climb a high place and jump off with the girl he was dancing with and the whole dance start rail up. Suh mi a try outdo Shelly Belly and decide fi climb pon a place with a girl and jump off pan a tent. The whole place tear dung, but a bartender who was under the tent got her leg fracture in the process," he said.

Face-off

The dancer said the accident caused some amount of panic. However, he has since made amends with the injured bartender, who is also the girlfriend of a popular street selector.

"The dancer who I jumped off the place with is all right, but the bartender a di one who get a little damage. I checked up on her and she sey she all right, it's just a little fracture leg. Mi nuh want nuh body think mi and Shelly Belly face-off a nothing serious either, a just entertainment," he said.

When contacted, resident DJ/co-promoter at Uptown Mondays, Boom Boom, said he did not want to comment on the incident.

"A some positive thing mi wah highlight right now. A Washington DC mi and Harry Hype a guh and a pure tourist a come a Uptown Mondays. a dem thing deh mi want di people dem know. Mi nuh want talk nothing bout di selector, a him wife dat," he said, seemingly bothered by the topic.

Meanwhile, Marvin is booked for shows in the UK, US and the Caribbean. He will also be featured in the music video for Radijah's Thot Wine alongside his friendly rival Shelly Belly.
