Williams-Mills needs a reboot |

RAYMOND GRAHAM, STAR Writer After being the country's most consistent female quarter-miler for the last eight years, Novlene Williams-Mills has been finding the going tough this season. This season she is yet to show the form which gave her national titles in the one-lap event. Williams-Mills, with a season-best 51.11 seconds, third behind the American duo of Francena McCorory and Sanya Richards-Ross at the Drake Relays in April, is the number-four ranked Jamaican in the event this season. She will represent the country in the event in Beijing due to having won the overall title in the Diamond League last year, though missing the National Senior Championships two weeks ago. She will be making an appearance at the Lausanne Diamond League tomorrow, hoping that the break would have done her some good as well as prove she is in good stead going forward. She will face stern challenges from Richards-Ross, Americans Natasha Hastings and Phyllis Francis, along with Bahamas' Shaunae Miller. Richards-Ross will be pumped up as she will not compete in the event in Beijing after falling to make the finaal at the United States National Championships. The Jamaica-born will want to prove it was just a slip-up and show that her 49.95 seconds, the second best time this season, was no fluke. An interesting entry, Miller, who has good range in the 200m and 400m, with a sason's best 50.17 seconds, is fifth on the IAAF World Top list, behind Jamaica's Christine Day. This is a quality field for Williams-Mills to compete against. She needs an inspiring run to rebuild confidence. It could be the right moment for her to claim big scalps.
